FTTP and gigabit internet in Brisbane
Brisbane was an early nbn®city. NBN Co installed its first fibre-optic cable in the suburb of Aspley on 25 October 2012, as part of the national rollout. Today, most Brisbane homes and businesses can connect to fibre to the premises (FTTP) — the fastest nbn® technology type — and many HFC addresses support the top tiers too.
Since the September 2025 nbn® speed upgrades, FTTP and HFC connections are faster than ever. nbn® 100 plans stepped up to 500 Mbps at no extra cost. Most of Brisbane can access Swoop’s fastest plan, gigabit nbn® 1000, for the best everyday performance.

Some locations require an nbn® technician to come and finalise the connection before we can switch you on. If this is the case, you’ll just book a time slot that works for you. Once the work is complete, you’ll be ready to go!
