What our customers say
Speak to an expert and connect today. About nbn® business fibre internet.
The nbn® network is an upgrade to Australia’s existing phone and internet infrastructure.
nbn® connects your premises to its high-speed fibre network using a variety of technology types depending on your area. Some locations are capable of up to 1000 Mbps. Click ‘Check My Address’ to see what technology, speeds, and business plans are available at your location.
Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
Available for around 20% of Australians, this technology type is the fastest and most reliable by nbn®, with optic fibre going directly to your premises. Most locations are capable of speeds up to 1000 Mbps!
Fibre to the Node (FTTN)
The most common tech type, this utilises your existing copper and connects it to a nearby fibre node. Max speeds are 100 Mbps, but actual speeds are based on your connection. After you enter your address, we’ll display plans you are capable of receiving. If you need more information, our expert local customer service team is available to help!
Fibre to the Building (FTTB)
This tech type is usually available at apartment blocks, in which the existing technology is used to connect to a central communication cabinet, which connects the building to the nbn® fibre network. Max download speeds available are 100 Mbps, but actual speeds depend on your infrastructure.
Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)
nbn® runs fibre to a point, usually in your street, after which the existing copper brings the connection into your premises. Max download speeds available are 100 Mbps, but actual speeds depend on your infrastructure.
Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC)
HFC uses existing ‘pay TV’ or cable network. This high-speed connection runs to the nearest fibre node. This tech type can offer speeds over 500 Mbps depending on your location!
nbn™ Fixed Wireless
This connection utilises data transmitted over radio signals to connect premises to the nbn® broadband access network. Max download speeds available are usually capped at 75 Mbps. This service is very different from our Swoop Fixed Wireless Network, which uses specialised hardware to offer speeds closer to a direct fibre connection.
All Swoop business nbn® plans 250Mbps and above include an eSLA, or as we call it, Enhanced-12.
Enhanced-12 is a special support level whereby if you experience an outage, we aim to have it resolved and back online within 12 business hours.
All business nbn® plans 100Mbps and below include our standard SLA option.
Service availability: Services not available to all areas or premises.
nbn® new development charge: In areas serviced by NBN CO, Swoop may be required to connect services onto the nbn network. If you’re in a new development and not already connected to the nbn® network, NBN CO may charge $300 to connect your premises to the nbn® network. If applicable, we will bill that charge to you.
All business nbn® plans include:
- Business SLAs
- $0 connection fee
- Unlimited data
- No lock-in contracts
- Manage your account online with Swoop Business

Business customers who are on Fibre to the Node (FTTN) will require the modem to be a VDSL modem. Due to stock shortages, Swoop recommends that business customers purchase a modem through an IT service provider as we do not stock specific business modems. We want you to have the best internet experience and ensuring your modem is able to withstand your needs will significantly help.

Business fibre internet, also known as fibre-optic internet, is a high-speed internet connection that uses thin strands of glass or plastic fibres to transmit data. In Australia fibre internet is provided through the National Broadband Network (NBN) infrastructure using optical fibre technology.
Benefits of fibre internet for your businesses:
Fibre internet offers significantly faster download and upload speeds compared to traditional broadband technologies, making it ideal for data-intensive business operations.
Fibre connections are known for their reliability and consistent performance, which is crucial for businesses that rely on uninterrupted internet access.
Businesses can easily scale their internet bandwidth to meet growing demands without major infrastructure changes.
Symmetrical Upload and Download Speeds
Unlike some other technologies, fibre internet provides symmetrical speeds, ensuring that both uploads and downloads happen at high speeds.
Opting for fibre internet ensures that your business is prepared for future technological advancements and increased data needs.
