We are Swoop.

Our story begins in the 1990’s, in Gippsland Victoria, where Swoop started out as a provider of computer services and Fixed Wireless internet.

25 years later, we have grown rapidly and are proud to have become one of the best Fixed Wireless Providers in Australia! Swoop now provides home and business internet via the nbn®, or over our very own Fixed Wireless network – that we build and service.

We’re proud of our humble beginnings, and excited by what’s still to come. We can’t wait for you to join us on our journey.

A little about what we do.

Building networks.

As a leading Fixed Wireless provider in Australia, we design, build and service our own Fixed Wireless towers – so we know our network inside out!

We also provide a number of other solutions, including Channel Partner opportunities, Reseller services, Wholesale and nbn® for home and business.

Building communities.

We are committed to building and supporting regional communities through funding initiatives, partnership programs and local employment.

Swoop proudly support and sponsor local not-for-profit groups who are making a huge impact in local communities, such as Olivia’s Place, Zoos SA and UNICEF.

A little back story.

Swoop has been a player in Australia’s internet space since the 90’s. Originally known as DCSI (Drouin Computer Services and Internet), we’ve been focused on Fixed Wireless since we began and have one of Australia’s largest wireless footprints and coverage area.

Some of our most recent projects.

Mount Baw Baw.

The Mount Baw Baw project is funded by the Victorian Government’s $550 million Connecting Victoria program to fast-track connectivity across the state.

Swoop are committed to delivering fast, reliable, great value internet to regional areas across the state.

It’s never been more important to be connected – for family, community, work and safety – and in today’s digital world it’s no longer just an option, but a necessity.

Mount Magnet.

Working with the Mount Magnet shire to build our Fixed Wireless network, our WA team provided residents access to fast and reliable internet. Without the Swoop network, locals were without modern connectivity, which meant everything from paying bills online, to streaming a movie was near impossible.

Mount Magnet Shire CEO – “It’s amazing to see this sort of infrastructure being introduced into a rural community like Mount Magnet. It is such a beautiful part of the world, and bringing this sort of internet speed offers the shire an opportunity to be connected with the rest of the world in a way we’ve never been able to before.”

Kangaroo Island.

Our SA team engineered and built an ‘open access’ tower network on the recently bushfire ravished Kangaroo Island, providing vital connectivity to those who were previously unable to access the internet for basic communication needs.

The project benefited all Kangaroo Island residents including farmers, tourists, council, local communities, and emergency services.

Meekatharra.

Meekatharra is a small, regional town in Western Australia that none of the bigger telcos wanted to touch. While the rest of the country transitioned onto the nbn®, Meekatharra was trudging along with ADSL2+, impacting how residents worked, learned, and played. That is, until Swoop worked with the town to bring Fixed Wireless.

For the first time in its history, this regional Western Australian town has reliable, high-speed internet to connect with each other and the rest of Australia. The entire project took just three months in total, from consultation to development and implementation, all during a global pandemic.

From day one, Fixed Wireless in Meekatharra has been a resounding success. “The improvement to services was immediate, marked, and dramatic,” said Tralee, Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Mt Magnet.

What makes Swoop different?

Telcos are all providing their customers with similar services. That means the point of difference between providers isn’t what a customer is getting, but how they’re getting it – and what their relationship with their telco is like. And our customer service really is the Swoop difference.

We have some news to share!

Swoop has been named as one of The Australian Financial Review‘s Digital Transformation Leaders for 2023 with a special distinction of “One to Watch”.

After a fantastic year of results for FY23, the award is a testament to the way our team has adopted digital technologies to drive productivity and innovation.

This award empowers our team to continuously provide excellent customer service and build on our outstanding network performance.

We are committed to demonstrating our brand promise of delivering fast, reliable internet, to you, our customers.

The Fixed Wireless difference.

When you sign up for a Swoop service, you can rest assured that it’s our network from end to end. We’re not bound by the constraints of a third party and their network, or technicians. When our customers tell us they need a structure, we can build it where the opportunity is. We’re offering them a local service and we back our own network. Because our first choice is to sell to customers, we’re able to spend more on support, which significantly improves the customer experience.

Our team are passionate.

Since Swoop designs, builds and services our own network, our team consists of many highly skilled, technical people. This means we have a huge advantage when it comes to resolving customer issues or building new infrastructure, because we have that in-house capability – all of which leads to a better experience for our customers. Whether someone is working with one of our consultants on a new project, or simply calls us for help, our teams truly understand the technology we’re providing and can offer real assistance, as opposed to just following a script or acting as a switchboard between different companies.

We keep our jobs local to support communities.

We hire teams across Australia as we build, service and design our networks.

Swoop operates on a hybrid working model, with many of our team working from home or their state office – across all business areas, including sales, support, marketing, finance, and management.

Near or far, we are a tight knit team embracing teamwork, innovation, technology and connectivity.

What we’re looking forward to next.

Another differentiator for us, is that we’re going to the areas that the bigger telcos can’t—or won’t— touch in regional and remote Australia. There are so many customers who have been forgotten by metro Australia. These are entire communities who can’t do things we take for granted in cities, like reliably using EFTPOS at the shops, video streaming for work and education, or just keeping in touch with loved ones.
