nbn® 25 speed.

nbn® 25 unlimited plans are fast enough to keep smaller households moving online. It’s more than enough for browsing, sending emails, casual streaming and gaming, and downloading.

Streaming services such as Netflix only require 5 Mbps for streaming full HD content and up to 20 Mbps for 4K content. This means you can stream 4K with no problems on one device, or full HD on two devices simultaneously.

And when it comes to gaming, you’ll find 25/5 nbn® plans are adequate for your needs. You need minimum speeds of 4-8 Mbps to game online, but for a consistently good gaming experience, at least 20 Mbps is probably best.

nbn® 25 plans FAQs

What is nbn® tier 25?

Also known as Standard Evening Speed or Home Standard, the nbn® 25 plan reaches maximum download speeds of 25 Mbps on downloads, with upload speeds reaching a maximum of 5 Mbps. During the evenings or peak hours when most households are online, the real download and upload speeds are more like 18-24 Mbps.

nbn® 25 vs nbn® 50

25 Mbps is fine for about two people with four or five devices – depending on how you use them. You could stream a show in 4K on one device, but more demand than that might be pushing it. However, 50 Mbps is good for two to four people and up to seven devices, with two or three simultaneous streams and some extra online activity. We always think it’s better to have a bit of buffer with your speed, to avoid inconvenient lags.

You can find out more about our 50 Mbps plan here.
