When signing up to Swoop, we recommend adding an address that you have access to either side of your requested activation date to ensure your modem arrives safely.

Quick tips:

  1. Check connection options
  2. Notify your internet provider
  3. Pack your equipment
  4. Set up at your new home

Slow Internet Connection?

Let Swoop get you connected FAST! Check if your address can get fast and reliable internet.

Enter your address

1) Check connection options

Check you can connect to the nbn®.

Use our address checker tool to check that your new address can connect to the nbn®, and find out which connection type is available. If the nbn® is already available at your new address, the transfer process should be straightforward. If not, you may need to explore alternative options until the nbn® becomes available.

This is a good time to review your household internet plan and decide whether you need a faster internet plan. If you’re not already connected to fibre to the premises (FTTP), the move may be your opportunity.

2) Notify your internet provider

To schedule the nbn® installation or transfer.

Let us know about your move a few weeks in advance to get your nbn® moving house at the same time as you. Give us your new address and the planned moving date, which will give us time to schedule the transfer of your connection.

If an nbn® box is already installed at your new home, the transfer could be quick. If not, we may need to arrange for a technician to install a new nbn® box or check the existing setup.

3) Pack your equipment

Take your modem but leave the nbn® box

Make sure you pack up and move internet equipment: your modem, router and any cables. Leave any nbn®-supplied equipment (the black box and attached cable) at your old address. This equipment is the property of NBN Co and is registered to the specific address so will not work at your new home.

If the nbn® box at your new home is missing or damaged, let NBN Co. know immediately so they can arrange a replacement.

4) Set up at your new home

Connect all equipment, then test your internet.

On moving day, unpack and set up your modem and router at the new house. If you have an nbn® box at the new address, connect your modem and router to it. Follow the instructions provided by your ISP or refer to the user manual.

Once everything is set up, test your nbn® connection to ensure it’s working properly. Check the internet speed and stability, and make sure all devices are connected. If there are any issues, contact us for assistance.

These steps will help you smoothly move your internet service and get connected as soon as you arrive at your new home.
