Do I have to cancel my current service before I join Swoop Mobile?

Please don’t cancel your current mobile plan service before you transfer your number. The transfer will only work if your service is currently active.

In fact, you don’t even need to contact your old provider to say you’re leaving as we do all that for you.

We will process your transfer/port of your phone number(s), which will tell your current provider that your numbers are no longer connected on their billing platform. They will then generate you a final invoice notifying you of any credits or debits.

What is a SIM only plan?

A SIM only plan provides you with just a SIM card and a mobile service without a new phone. You bring your own device and pay for the data, talk, and text, often at a lower cost and without a long-term contract.

Is it cheaper to do SIM only?

Yes, SIM-only plans are usually cheaper because you’re only paying for the mobile service, not a new phone. They offer flexibility with no lock-in contracts, allowing you to choose affordable data, talk, and text options that suit your needs.

Can I use my old number on a new SIM card?

Yes, you can keep your old number when switching to a new SIM card. Simply request to transfer (or “port”) your number during the activation process, and we’ll handle the transfer for you, ensuring a smooth transition without losing your number.

What is the difference between prepaid and postpaid?

The main difference between prepaid and SIM only plans is how you pay for the service. With prepaid plans, you pay upfront for a set amount of data, talk, and text, and when you run out, you can recharge as needed. SIM only plans are postpaid, meaning you get billed at the end of each month for the usage included in your plan. SIM only plans often come with more data and better value.
