1300 66 55 75eero 7 mesh router general information and setup
eero is a mesh Wi-Fi system (router) designed to provide strong, fast, and stable Wi-Fi.
If your current modem or router is outdated, it may need to be replaced with a router capable of supporting higher speeds.
This is not required to continue with your existing speed but may be necessary for you to enjoy your new high-speed service.
*Please note that factors like distance, walls, and interference inside your home can still affect performance.
You can call our team on 1300 66 55 75, alternatively from September 15 you can purchase it via our website with a new service.
The eero 7 will be available at a promotional price of $149 including free shipping until 31 December.*
In the box you will find:
- An eero device.
- A USB-C power adaptor.
- An ethernet cable.
- There is also a QR Code for you to download the eero App.
The eero 7 is a Wi-Fi 7 router ideal for customers who want an affordable way to upgrade their home network to take advantage of the newest in wireless technology.
The eero 7 is capable of delivering wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps, and wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps.
eero 7 supports Wi-Fi 7.
Every home is unique, and eero was designed to be flexible so that it can be a fit for any home. Generally, we recommend the number of eeros needed based on your Wi-Fi needs, the size of your space, number of Wi-Fi users, and your internet speed plan. As a guide, 1 eero is suggested per 140 square metres and/or 1-2 connected people.
One eero can support up to 128 devices (you read that right). That’s one very connected home. However, if those devices are heavily using the Internet for activities like streaming video, you’ll probably see best results using up to 30 devices with each eero.
What you’ll need:
- The eero iOS app or Android app.
- At least one eero.
- A mobile device with a data connection and a minimum iOS version of 15.0 or Android OS version 9.0.
eero does not support web browser setup. You can set up your eero through the mobile app, on a mobile device with a data connection and a minimum iOS version of 15.0 or Android OS version 9.0.
To begin setting up your new eero network, you will need to log in using your Amazon Account information, or you can make an eero account.
You will need to enter your phone number and email address. By default, you will receive a verification code to your phone number.
Enter this code on the verification screen of the app to create your account.
Proceed with logging in.
The eero connected to the cable modem acts as the gateway (or router) for the network. It will be the primary device that you set up and will connect directly to your NBN Box.
In general, best place for your gateway eero device is as central as possible within your home. Sometimes you may be limited to where your NBN Box is located, or by the layout of your home.
You can purchase additional “Leaf” devices if you need extra coverage throughout your home. A Leaf is any eero device that’s part of a home’s mesh network but isn’t connected to the modem directly. A leaf device is best positioned half-way between your gateway eero, and where you need coverage.
There sure are, check this out!
On the front of your eero, there is a LED status light. When everything is running correctly, your eero’s light will be solid white (unless you have turned it off). If your LED is in a different state, including a different colour or is blinking/flashing, please refer to the list below:
eero devices are not locked to any internet provider.
Other routers or mesh systems may cause interference when running alongside each other.
NBN Cable connections (HFC) are supported, but eero is not directly compatible with DSL connections.
We recommend the TP-Link VX230v Modem/Router for DSL connections.
Parental controls can be managed through the eero app. With Wi-Fi parental controls, you can set schedules, create profiles for your family’s devices, or just shut the whole thing down if you want to go completely off the grid.
eero 7 mesh router support
You can follow the setup guide here or contact our support team at 1300 66 55 75. One of our friendly agents will be happy to assist you with the setup.
If only one of your devices is not connecting, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Power cycle the eero device and your affected device
- Check Wi-Fi settings and ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on. Try connecting using the correct network name and password.
- Try legacy mode if your device doesn’t support Wi-Fi 6 by following below steps:
- Open the eero app.
- Go to Settings > Troubleshooting > My device won’t connect > My device can’t detect Wi-Fi.
- Toggle Legacy mode on.
- Try connecting again.
If you are still having issues, contact eero support at +61 1800 029 708.
To allow a 2.4 GHz device to connect to your eero network, you can temporarily pause the 5 GHz band. Here’s how to temporarily pause the 5 GHz band:
- Open the eero app: Log in to your eero app using your eero account information.
- Navigate to Troubleshooting: Go to “Settings” > “Troubleshooting”.
- Select “My device won’t connect”: Choose the option related to device connection issues.
- Pause the 5 GHz band: Tap on “Temporarily pause 5 GHz” to hide the 5 GHz band
This will temporarily disable the 5 GHz band for 10 minutes, allowing your 2.4 GHz device to connect. After this, the 5 GHz band will automatically resume.
A mesh Wi-Fi system is designed to enhance your internet coverage, especially in large or multi-story homes. It helps deliver strong, consistent Wi-Fi throughout your entire house—including hard-to-reach areas like upstairs rooms, basements, and even your front and back yards.
The system includes a main router connected to your NBN Box, along with one or more “leaf” devices placed around your home. These devices work together, creating a unified network that automatically routes your connection through the fastest and most reliable path, ensuring a strong signal wherever you are.
You can purchase additional eero devices (up to 3 devices total) if you need extra coverage throughout your home – this would be called a “leaf” (any eero device that’s part of a home’s mesh network but isn’t connected to the modem directly).
Here’s how to add additional eero “Leaf” device to your network.
Try restarting your router and your NBN® box. If you’re still experiencing lower speeds than expected, call our friendly team to troubleshoot at 1300 66 55 75.
*Please note that factors like distance, walls, and interference inside your home can still affect performance.
As with all routers, rebooting and/or resetting your eero(s) can be a useful troubleshooting step. We generally recommend deploying simpler steps—such as power cycling your eero by unplugging its power cable, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in—before attempting a reset.
If you do need to reset and/or reboot your eero, you can do so through the eero app or by hitting the small reset button. Before resetting and/or rebooting your eero, make sure it has been powered on for at least 45 seconds and has an internet connection. If you require assistance locating the button, please see the below guide on the eero website:
How do I reboot or reset my eero? – eero Help Center
To check and see if an eeroOS update is available for your network, do the following:
- Open the eero App and Tap the Settings Icon in the bottom right corner
- Tap Software Updates
- If you see the option Update available, you can tap that and update your eero network to the latest OS version.
If you don’t see Update available, don’t be alarmed. This just means your system is up to date with the latest software!
